It's hard to believe the month of October is almost over!  The excitement is building and even though we have many fun activities planned, ( our bridge project and "Monster Writing" using adjectives to name a few) I really need your help to make sure your child comes to school rested and ready to learn!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week.  Here are the activities for the week:

Monday: Wear your favorite team jersey
Tuesday: Wear boots (Put tennis shoes in backpack for PE)
Wednesday: Wear clothes in a crazy way
Thursday: Wear your School Picture Day Clothes
Friday: Wear Tye Dye

Here is our week of learning at a glance:

Reading Workshop-This week we will begin our unit on nonfiction text features.   This week we will concentrate on features such as the table of contents, glossary, captions,  headings, and many more!  We will use our iPads to take pictures of text features and label them. Be on the look out for those on SeeSaw.

Writing Workshop-    We will edit our personal narratives and begin publishing our final copy.  We will  begin  adding adjectives  and descriptive details to our writing and we will create a friendly monster and describe it.

Science/ Social Studies-     This week in science we will continue our Project Based Learning project.  We will begin creating our blueprint for our bridges.

Math-   We are still working on three digit place value and focusing on different ways to write a number. Towards the end of the week, we will  work on ordering numbers and comparing three digit numbers.

Important News:   We will have an early release day October 26 at 12:00 and we will have our school pictures on October 27. Red Ribbon week is also next week!

Class Celebrations:    Tori iour  Star of the Week!  She will share her poster with us on Monday!
